The Authenex A-Key is a chip-based authentication token offering total mobility with maximum flexibility. One push on the button and the Defender A-Key hybrid token generates a unique One-Time Password. The user then enters this one-time password into their application login screen for Challenge-Response authentication.

• Synchronous mode allows the generation of a one-time password at the press of a button.
• Asynchronous mode presents the user with a challenge number which they enter on the token keypad. The DualTOK Key Chain Token will then generate a response to the challenge which the user enters as their one-time password to complete their login process.

The alternative, proactive method of activating a Defender Mobile token is very similar, but in order to generate the SMS message, the user must dial the modem attached to the Defender Mobile Server from the assigned cell phone. Defender carries out a CLI (Caller Line Identification) and, if the cell phone’s number matches a stored number; the one-time password is generated and sent as an SMS message the phone.

When you install the Desktop Token software on your PC or laptop you have the option of storing the token in multiple local folders, on a USB eToken or on a removable device such as a USB memory stick or iPAQ. Installing the token on a removable device will allow you to authenticate to your corporate assets from any of your PCs. When installed on a PC or Laptop you can rename your tokens to make them more memorable, you may also protect them with a passphrase for increased security.

For supported applications, the PassGo Desktop Token also allows you to choose to authenticate by only having to enter a PIN identity. The challenge/response dialog can be handled automatically by the Defender VPN Integrator. This simplifies the authentication process making it the ultimate in user-friendliness.

The user then enters this one-time password into their application login screen.

The Defender Go-1 token from PassGo offers the ultimate in user-friendly high security. With a simple click, the Defender Go-1 is opened and displays a unique one-time password on a high contrast LCD display. All that needs to be done is to read it and enter it into the Defender prompt wherever the user may be.

The token offers the user the choice between carrying it in a pocket, around the neck for moving within the company, on a keyring so as not to forget it in the morning or clipped to a belt like a mobile phone.

These eTokens are both cost-effective and easy to use and can be carried on a key ring or in a pocket. When combined with Defender a user is able to store their Defender security token on either device. Just connect the eToken to your PC or laptop and with a click of your mouse your Defender software will recognise the security token on the eToken device and prompt you to authenticate. The eTokens are the ultimate user friendly and portable security solution as both use a standard USB interface and can be taken from one workstation to another. The eToken R2 and the eToken Pro also have a hardened tamper-evident and water resistant shell which provides added durability and increased security.
